Travel Day

We departed from Oaks and made great time. We enjoyed getting to know one another and had some Chik-fil-A in San Juan Capistrano. Then we made a stop in San Ysidro, gassed up and crossed the border. There was a delay as the Mexican border patrol xrayed any and every van passing through. Van 14 was flagged with something in the middle of the first row seat. Turns out that the the milk may have been the culprit. Due to the delay, hungry mouths were yearning for some tacos. We headed to the northern part of ENSENADA and filled our bellies. Then we headed back north toward a beautiful Vista point and took this picture. We settled into Door of Faith around 430 pm and got a tour of the  campground. Dinner is served at 6 pm. After dinner well have a group meeting and then get some good night's rest.

Sunday Day 2

Went to bed somewhat early last night (10 pm). Team meeting after dinner involved some reflection on the day and a testimony from Mr. Choi. In the morning, after enjoying breakfast together we headed off to Elim Church to hear a bilingual service. We enjoyed some delicious sopas from the church ladies. Caught a local baseball game outside. Then we got to meet Brendan and Sarah, medical missionaries who direct Siloe Ministries. They are full time folks who provide medical needs for the locals here. We'll be partnering with them as we do some painting, sanding and minor contruction work. After a tour of their current two room clinic and their future 1 acre facility, we headed back to Door of Faith where we got hang out with the children. Some of the students got to see the 11 infants while many others played basketball, soccer, jump rump, and other activities on campus. Dinner will be provided by the pastors wife and we'll have our evening meeting soon afterwards. ...

Day 4 - Continued

We then headed off to Ensenada and had lunch in our usual spot (Taqueria Flamaste). The owner recognized us and even gave us a tshirt. Then we headed down south and did some flea market shopping and raided Starbucks. After a quick stop at the supermarket, we had some downtime at the beach. Tonight we'll have a late meeting but we'll get some good sleep for a longer day of serving the people.
